The technology never made it into production and it has baffled interested scientists for a century. A modern version has been invented but not yet prototyped.


    Two other self-powered generators now exist. One was recently issued a U.S. Patent and the other has patents pending worldwide, some have issued.

    Powering cars on water or on some free energy source drawn from space is an often repeated vision. Many of these accounts are given in Practical Guide to Free-Energy Devices - eBook Download (free-energy-info.co.uk). The story I like the best is not in that collection but is from Gerry Vassilatos. Gerry has studied history of Tesla in great detail and provides a story of the original Tesla electric vehicle built by the great inventor himself. The story is credit to a Mr. Savo, a nephew of the inventor who reports it to a long time acquaintance, Derek Ahlers. Here is short quote from Gerry's book.

    " Dr Tesla stepped into the passenger side and began making adjustments on a 'power receiver' which had been built directly into the dashboard. The receiver, no longer than a shortwave radio of the day, used 12 special tubes which Dr Tesla brought with him in a boxlike case. The device had been pre-fitted into the dashboard, no longer than a shortwave receiver. Mr. Savo told Mr. Ahler that Dr. Tesla built the receiver in his hotel room, a device 2 feet in length, nearly 1 foot wide and 1/2 foot high. These curiously constructed tubes having been properly installed in their sockets, Dr. Tesla pushed in 2 contact rods and informed Peter that power was now available to drive. Several additional meters read values which Dr. Tesla would not explain. No sound was heard. Dr. Tesla handed Mr. Savo the ignition key and told him to start the engine, which he promptly did. Yet hearing nothing, the accelerator was applied, and the car instantly moved. Tesla's nephew drove this vehicle without fuel for an undetermined long interval."


    I especially like the tubes that power the car because it would be so satisfying if Tesla had build a LENR powered car.

    The statement concerning fake references is absurd. There are none.


    The Tesla car story is excellent but controversial. It has never, to my knowledge been verified.


    Alfred Hubbard's generator ran his electric car in Everett, WA a while after his electric boat demonstration.


    The Hubbard story has an interesting connection to LENR. Hubbard was later employed by the Radium Corporation. When an invention similar to his Coil surfaced while he was working there, he said the secret was the inclusion of Radium in the generator. That was believed by a couple of later inventors, but they could never get their generators to function. Current knowledge indicates it was simply not true.


    Self powered generators are capable of replacing fossil fuels much more rapidly than current technologies. They are inherently inexpensive and will function 24//7/365.


    There is no vaccine for the climate emergency, but this growing group of technologies may prove to be the best approximation.


    Compact replacement for rooftop solar, solar farms and wind. Capable of providing every type of EV with unlimited range. Cars, trucks and buses can sell substantial electricity when suitably parked - a new source of income on top of ending fuel costs.

  • Magic Sound The generator is self-powered. That makes possible on-site & on-board electrolysis to produce Hydrogen without fuel. It and a handful of other self-powered generators can achieve what many pursuing LENR have been aiming at: inherently inexpensive electric power for every application.

    the device described is an electric generator with a stator coil and a magnetic rotor driven by an external source such as a turbine wheel. There is no mention of "self-powered" or any claim of efficiency greater than 100%. I suspect you have mis-interpreted the patent, which in any case would not have been granted if it claimed over-unity efficiency.

  • Interested Observer: I have been evaluating such claims for more than 40 years. Most are inventors delusion. Some are scams. You can count on the fingers of your hands those that are genuine.


    Magic Sound: As you note, no patent attorney wishing to see a patent granted would be foolish enough to mention self-power. However, I assure you we have had such patents granted.


    Our knowledge of magnetism is remarkably dogmatic, as is true of the physics that underlie LENR. It takes brave souls to challenge long established belief that is embedded in textbooks. Fortunately, a few such individuals have illuminated incredible ignorance in institutions that should know better. Dogma and arrogance have burdened the planet and threatened the survival of civilization with fossil fuels that might have been left behind a Century ago.

    I've seen other comparisons recently of how many homes can be served by a generator, with a similar divide-by-1000.

    Average USA electric power usage is 877 kWh per MONTH.
    There are 24*30 = 720 hours in a month.
    So the average Wattage of a house is 877 /720 = 1.2 kW

    20 MW = 20,000 kW / 1.2 kW = 16,666 houses. Close to 20,000

  • This patent seems to be for a novel pole and winding configuration for an electric generator. There is no mention of Hydrogen or other technology related to LENR. How is it relevant here?

    If we have a cold fusion reaction, reactants disappear and products appear. The difference between the mass states of products and reactants gives delta G. Per Gibbs equation, the freed energy can be measured as sum of heat and a product of the entropy and temperature. Unfortunately, hidden in the entropy term then is the conversion of the energy of reaction back to some form of matter. If such matter is formed, it is a fuel since it would be composed on both matter and antimatter. I have shown that all this happens (see reference in my profile). Hence, the unfortunate thing about that LENR reaction is that it produces about 4/10,000 of the freed energy as potential useful heat. But the upside is there is a fuel produced.


    Tesla, Henry Moray (The Sea of Energy in Which the Earth Floats: Moray, John E: 9781469159799: Amazon.com: Books ) and maybe others like Hubbard seem to have tap this energy. That is if you don't abandon thermodynamics and claim the energy comes from zero point or some such non-sense.
